Miss Peregrine movie

I knew they'd made Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children but didn't go to see it and I looked up the trailers today and I don't think I will see it.

I mean.. I know I whine a lot about movies that don't stick to the book, but it looks like they changed more than just a couple of little things.  The children's peculiarities seem wrong as do the ages of some of them.  Miss Peregrine looks like a crazy old cougar and it's clear they just wanted it to be a special effects spot fest.  It makes me think the major parts of the story will have been changed too.  Still, I'm curious and if I ever catch it roll around on a movie channel I'll tune in to be outraged... lol.
